Canada Votes: Federal Leaders’ Debate

UPDATE: This event has been CANCELLED because Stephen Harper and Thomas Mulcair refuse to participate.

This is supposed to be the national English-language debate, jointly held by the so-called consortium (CBC, CTV, Global), and broadcast on all networks in order to give all Canadians a chance to hear from the national party leaders. This debate has been held for decades, and had 11 million viewers in 2011. Currently, neither Stephen Harper nor Thomas Mulcair plans to attend. As a result, the traditional national leaders debate may not happen. If you think our leaders have a responsibility to present and defend their views before as many Canadians as possible, make your voice heard by signing petitions, writing the leaders and generally demanding democracy.
